With having our main Lindley site and a street food pop up, no 2 days are the same Key Responsibilities: Food Preparation: Assist in the preparation of food items, including chopping, slicing, dicing, and portioning ingredients, under the guidance of experienced chefs.
Cooking: Learn and perform basic cooking techniques and tasks, such as grilling, sautéing, and frying, while adhering to established recipes and culinary standards.
Kitchen Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized work area, including cleaning and sanitizing equipment, utensils, and workstations, to ensure a safe and hygienic kitchen environment.
Ingredient Handling: Receive, store, and handle food products properly, ensuring freshness and safety while following all food safety guidelines.
Menu Knowledge: Familiarize yourself with the menu items, ingredients, and cooking methods to be able to assist with food preparation and plate assembly.
Quality Control: Assist in quality control measures, including tasting, garnishing, and ensuring that all dishes are presented to meet the restaurant's standards.
Collaboration: Work closely with the culinary team, including chefs, sous chefs, and other kitchen staff, to ensure a smooth and efficient operation.
Learning and Development: Actively engage in culinary education and training programs provided by the restaurant, and continually improve your culinary skills.
Compliance: Adhere to all safety and sanitation standards, including health and safety regulations, and follow the restaurant's policies and procedures.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent.
A strong passion for cooking and an interest in pursuing a career as a chef.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Willingness to learn, take direction, and follow recipes.
Strong work ethic and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices is required.
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Training and Education: This position is designed to provide on-the-job training and development in the culinary arts.
The successful candidate will be enrolled in an apprenticeship program or similar culinary education program to further their skills and knowledge.
