Taskmaster Resources is proud to recruit on behalf of our NHS client in Grantham for a passionate and dedicated Chef to join their catering team.
In this vital role, you will prepare, cook, and serve nutritious meals for patients, staff, visitors, and external contracts.
As a valued team member, youll play an essential role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of food service.
Key Responsibilities Food Preparation and Service : Responsible for the preparation, cooking, chilling, freezing, and serving of various food items, including hot meals, sandwiches, salads, and light snacks.
Stock and Cost Management : Control food production processes to reduce waste and costs; manage stock levels and place orders as needed.
Quality Control and Compliance : Follow food hygiene and safety regulations, including HACCP, COSHH, and Health and Safety standards.
Training and Development : Supervise, train, and support Assistant Chefs in the kitchen; participate in recipe development and product evaluation.
Customer Service : Engage with customers in a positive and helpful manner, enhancing the catering experience through product knowledge and presentation.
Teamwork : Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a supportive and respectful environment.
Skills and Experience Required Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for food preparation.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
Good sensory judgment for assessing food quality and presentation.
Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
Basic Food Hygiene Certificate and City and Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ3 equivalent.
Previous experience in a catering environment with a strong commitment to customer care.
