Job summary We are looking for a Retail Catering Assistant to support the new retail outlet at Florence Nightingale Community Hospital Derby .Working shift Monday to Friday including bank holidays.You will be responsible for working in the new retail outlet, preparing shop to open and serving Customers , stocking shelves, cleaning duties, and opening and closing the shop, recording till readings working as part of the Communities Facilities team .Ensuring that all hot meals are prepared and ready for service, all sandwiches, salads are prepared and displayed correctly.
Responsibilities for all the food safety documentation with regard to all aspects of the food service and stock rotation and temperature recording.The successful candidate will be supported by the Facilities Management Team.
A comprehensive training package will be provided, and other elements of training will be discussed through the UHDB Talent Mapping Process.Candidates must be able to complete the Food Safety and Allergen training and to be able to complete the food safety paperwork.
English at Level 2 will be required.
Main duties of the job The main duties of a Retail Catering Assistant working at Florence Nightingale Community Hospital Derby are to work as part of Retail/ catering/Hostess team, to carry out a variety of tasks associated with food orders and food preparation,, Opening and Closing the retail unit according to opening/closing procedures To deliver good principles of customer care ensuring helpfulness, awareness and compassion to patients, visitors, staff and colleagues.
Operating cash register at point of sales Rotate and replenish stock.
Service of cold and hot food items with meal delivery to customers.
Stay up to date with new products Cleaning duties within the Retail, kitchen and other associated areas in accordance with departmental cleaning schedules to include equipment, work surfaces crockery and cutlery.
You will ideally possess a good understanding of Mathematics and English.
Have a good understanding of customer care and be able to communicate well with patients, staff and visitors.
Catering experience and a Food Safety Certificate are desirable but not essential, skills and technical training will be given.
