Catering Assistant – Patient Meal Services (Grade A)

Our Patient Meal Service team based within the Catering Team of AGH Solutions, a wholly owned subsidiary of Airedale NHS Foundation Trust are now looking for additional Catering Assistants - Patient Meal Service to join the team, where no two days or two wards are the same.
As part of the Patient Dining Team, you will be responsible for the delivery of the patient meal service, and beverage service to our patients, along with some food preparation, cleaning duties, (including potwash) and temping of fridges and food, along with the picking of our patients food, and preparing this on our regeneration service trollies.
Full Training will be provided, and this would be Mon-Fri initially for 2 weeks, which must be completed, please also note for this role you will need to be 18 or over to be considered due to safeguarding.
Adhoc/Bank basis on the needs of the service, shifts will be between 07:00-20:00, 7 days a week 365 days a year and are subject to operational and service needs.
Main duties of the job The role of the Catering Assistant is to carry out all duties to the required standard for the provision of the catering services within the Hospital.
To communicate with the Catering Supervisor and Management any problems and potential improvements in providing the service and to work to achieve departmental objectives.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential GCSE Maths & English or equivalent Desirable Food safety course level 1 Customer Service Training Experience Essential Previous experience working with the public/customers Working to schedules, procedures and deadlines Desirable Previous experience of working in a hospital/healthcare/care home environment Previous experience of complying with Health and Safety regulations Knowledge Essential Understanding of Confidentiality Demonstrates an understanding of Dignity and Respect Desirable Knowledge of cleaning procedures.
Skills/competencies Essential Ability to follow instructions both verbal and written Communicates effectively Ability to work effectively as part of a team Able to use own initiative Ability to complete work records Ability to work to schedules, procedures and deadlines
