I'm working on a great new role with a high-profile public-sector organisation who have an exciting opportunity for a commercially focused category manager to join their team.
They are about to embark on a significant transformation and period of growth, making this an exciting time to join the team and be part of the journey as they shape the future of procurement across the organisation.
You will be responsible for: Managing a diverse range of categories and developing category strategy reports for your area of responsibility.
Supporting key budget holders to ensure that contractual agreements are in place to cover all expenditures.
Providing guidance on tender and contract terms and conditions, incorporating legal updates into all tender documentation to meet compliance requirements, and generating reports as needed.
Engage effectively with key stakeholders, coordinating and managing all tenders in line with the procurement policy.
Develop and implement a robust performance management program, including contract and supplier relationship management (C&SRM), to mitigate business risks.
Pro-actively take responsibility for identifying new procurement opportunities for the department through financial analysis and interpreting and assessing client's needs.
Skills and experience: Skilled in the use of Microsoft packages such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint and accounting software packages.
Excellent communication and well-developed influencing skills.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to evaluate complex tender responses and present and contribute towards the award recommendation.
Well-developed interpersonal and relationship building skills.
