Job summary We are looking for an ambitious, dynamic, motivated and enthusiastic Band 6 Nurse who is a qualified Specialist Practitioner in District Nursing to join our Ampthill Community Nursing team in Mid Bedfordshire.
This dynamic team delivers responsive, high quality nursing to patients in their own homes.

Main duties of the job The Community Nursing Service operates between to hours and the successful candidate will work a variety of shifts, including weekends, evenings and bank holidays.Access to a car in order to carry out service duties is essential.You will have the support and mentorship of the Team Lead and Practice Development Nurse to develop into this role and be encouraged to complete the SPQDN if not already a qualified DN.

The post holder is responsible for the day to day management of a team of skilled health care workers.
The post holder is responsible for the provision of health education for patients and carers so that optimum enablement and care can be delivered.
The post holder is responsible in conjunction with the Team Leader for the education, support and development of staff including implementation of the appraisal and supervision processes.
The post holder will participate in conjunction with the senior management team in the strategic planning and development of services provided in the defined neighbourhood.
The post holder will participate in the training and mentorship of students during placements.
The post holder will be responsible for the effective utilisation of staff and non-pay resources including the use of scheduling and ordering systems.
The post holder will be required to travel throughout Bedfordshire including rural and urban areas according to the needs of the service.
Person Specification Qualifications Essential Has experience of managing a caseload Significant Community Experience Post-registration qualification in a relevant clinical field Desirable SPQDN qualification in progress, willing to work towards or achieved Nurse Prescriber Holds qualification to teach and mentor others Education/ Qualification/ Training Essential Demonstrate evidence-based practice and upto-date clinical skills Evidence of significant post registration nursing experience including community setting.
Post-registration qualification in a relevant clinical field Relevant teaching/mentorship qualification and evidence of teaching skills.
Experience Essential Evidence of and commitment to multiprofessional working Desirable Understanding of safeguarding and essentials of managing complex cases Knowledge and Skills Essential Literate in IT/Computer Skills Good oral communication skills based on fluency on the English language Other Essential Current driving licence Ability to travel across sites and across Bedfordshire to meet patient needs and attend meetings, etc.
