Templemore Care Home in Northampton is on the lookout for a dynamic Care Manager to play a crucial role in supporting the Manager in the day-to-day management of the home and deputizing in their absence.
The key focus of this role is to provide complete oversight of the expected standard of care within the home and lead the team on the floor.
Key Responsibilities of a care manager: Assist the manager in efficiently and compassionately running the home.
Take responsibility for care standards through effective communication, training, and development, including overseeing the mentoring system.
Act as the 'Care and Governance Champion,' ensuring compliance with company policies, attending virtual monthly updates, and disseminating relevant information to the team.
Directly report to the Home Manager, undertaking duties per the terms and conditions of the employment contract.
Assist in maintaining adequate staffing levels and the correct mix of staff.
Undertake simple bookkeeping, ensure timely invoicing, and manage monthly returns to Head Office.
Monitor and control all income and expenditure, adhering to the purchasing cost report.
Ensure accurate record-keeping in compliance with local and central government legislation.
Supervise cleaning and laundry to maintain high standards.
Support the Home Manager in maintaining high occupancy levels.
Attend callouts for planned out-of-hours support, including working a whole night shift every three months.
Effective Monitoring and Care Delivery Systems: Assess the needs of prospective and new residents, confirming their compatibility with the home.
Implement and monitor Care Plan systems.
Ensure confidentiality of all information.
Liaise with GPs, nurses, and other allied professionals.
Essential Attributes as a care manager: Effective communication at all levels, including drafting professional emails and letters.
Positive leadership and role modeling.
Ability to manage time effectively.
Passion for person-centered care and resident wellbeing.
Business-minded and maintains a professional attitude.
Qualifications: Hold a full UK driving license.
