Job Title: Buyer - Procurement Specialist Hourly rate: £40/hour Inside IR35 Location: Filton, Bristol Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced Buyer to contribute to all sourcing activities throughout the contract life cycle.
The role involves managing tendering, contract negotiation, cost reduction, and change management to ensure the best purchasing conditions and value delivery.
You will be the focal point for contracts related to various commercial aerospace programs, collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize customer value while minimizing total cost of ownership and risks.
Responsibilities : Lead and set up procurement activities for products, ensuring the contractual framework is secured with suppliers.
Manage the tendering process and contract negotiations to achieve optimal purchasing conditions in alignment with company requirements and procedures.
Monitor contracts throughout their life cycle, ensuring suppliers meet agreed performance metrics across all dimensions (logistics, support, quality, cost, etc.).
Act as the main point of contact for contracts, managing day-to-day supplier relationships and ensuring smooth project execution.
Collaborate with internal teams (Engineering, Programme, Finance, Supply Chain, Quality, etc.)
to coordinate all activities related to contracts.
Assist in defining and implementing commodity strategies, perform market analysis, and support global sourcing and offset initiatives.
Work with Financial Controlling to provide accurate financial forecasts, managing financial risks and opportunities for suppliers/contracts.
Ensure effective risk and opportunity management is embedded in day-to-day operations.
Identify and manage opportunities for counter claims to be charged back to the supplier.
Required Skills and Experience: Procurement experience is essential; candidates with strong business knowledge and understanding of procurement processes will also be considered.
Demonstrated experience in working within a multi-functional environment.
Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence internal customers.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, including experience engaging with senior management.
Strong contract management and negotiation capabilities, with a focus on optimizing value and minimizing risk.
