An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Equality & Human Rights Team, within the Patient Experience Department to undertake BSL interpretation work for patients and staff, in addition to supporting wider NHS Fife with accessibility for Deaf BSL users and their families, including the development of BSL communication videos.
You will need to manage a busy workload, have an ability to work to tight deadlines and be adaptable to changing priorities and demands.
The role requires you to have excellent communication skills, BSL public sector interpreting skills and effectively manage your own diary.
You must also have a strong understanding of confidentiality and its importance as well as the ability to liaise at all levels and have with strong administrative, customer service and organisational skills and experience.
You will be expected to travel across all of Fife.
In return you will have the opportunity to work alongside a well established knowledgeable team and staff across NHS Fife to ensure compliance with the Equality Act 2010, the BSL Act Scotland (2015).
This work will help NHS Fife progress in meeting the Fife BSL local plan and generally promote equalities and its mainstreaming across NHS Fife.
A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Prior to appointment.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.
This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.
This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours.
However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
