£12.90+ depending on experience and additional duties. Teaching Personnel are recruiting on behalf of Specialist Provisions in Bamber Bridge, Leyland, Chorley and Preston.
The provisions cater for children with Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) and Special Educational Needs (SEN) and therefore have struggled to maintain an education within a mainstream provision.
The class sizes and considerably smaller resulting in a holistic approach and support in terms of emotional development.
Main Duties: The role of a behaviour support assistant is to contribute positively to children overcoming their barriers to learning by implementing positive reinforcement and strong structure and boundaries.
Many of the pupils have previously had negative experiences of school and feelings of failure and frustration therefore it will be vital to develop their social skills and raise their aspirations.
Encouraging assigned pupils with Behaviour, Emotional and Social needs to participate and actively engage in activities led by teachers.
Delivering and monitoring short term interventions on behalf of disengaged and disaffected learners.
There may be periods of implementing 1:1 or group interventions with the children and addressing their individual targets.
Adopting a positive, upbeat attitude will play a vital role in developing and maintaining positive relationships with the children.
Person Specification: Good co-operative, interpersonal and listening skills.
Experience supporting adults or children, not necessarily in an educational setting.
Excellent role model.
