Main duties of the job To assist the Nursery Manager and Deputy Manager in the provision of the day care for children of staff working at Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust and to deputise for the Nursery Manager and Deputy Nursery Manager.Active member of the team in providing a safe, stimulating and emotionally safe environment for children aged 6 months to 5 yearsTo adhere to Nursery, Ofsted, EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) National Curriculum and The Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust Policies and procedures, including Safeguarding, Health and Safety, and Behaviour Management Policy.Take a lead role in the base room including mentoring/leading nursery assistants and students.To supervise children at all times, in all areas.To promote good working relationships between staff and parents.

Person Specification Qualification Essential Minimum of Level 3 Childcare qualification-(NNEB, NVQ, CACHE or equivalent) Paediatric First Aid Certificate Safeguarding Level 2 or Designated Safeguarding Lead Experience Essential Extensive experience working with children in a Nursery setting Experience of record keeping and planning for individual children and groups Desirable Understanding of food hygiene and healthy eating Skills and Aptitude Essential Be able to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and written Confident in communicating with parents/carers, children and others as required.
Personal Qualities & attribute Essential Willing to learn and develop Desirable Demonstrate creative ability Others Essential To perform any other reasonable duties as required by the Nursery Manager.
Be able to cover varying shifts to ensure ratios are met To cover all sites as needed Values Essential Demonstrable ability to meet the Trust Values
