Teaching Personnel is seeking an Attendance Officer for a secondary school in Stockport to join their team in January 2025.
In this critical role, you will work closely with staff, students, and parents to monitor, track, and improve student attendance rates, helping create a positive and supportive school culture.
Your role will involve data analysis, identifying patterns, and supporting initiatives to ensure students remain engaged and committed to their education.
Key Responsibilities : Monitor daily attendance records, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting Communicate with parents/guardians regarding absences and follow up on unexplained absences Work closely with the pastoral team to identify students at risk of poor attendance and engage them in support programs Maintain accurate and confidential records, generating reports to help track attendance trends Coordinate with external agencies, including social services, to address attendance barriers Lead school initiatives to promote the importance of regular attendance and student engagement Ideal Candidate : The successful candidate will have experience in a school or administrative setting, with strong data management skills and the ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and knowledge of school management systems (like SIMS) are advantageous.
