The Role – Associate Ecologist / Ecology Team Lead Take on technical leadership and help develop and shape a diverse team of roughly 10 excellent ecologists operating from Assistant to Principal level.
Inspire the team and help foster the core values of integrity, technical excellence and expediency.

Role Responsibilities: Work closely with the team in providing sound and relevant technical advice Line management, hiring duties, appraisal and review process, progression routes, pay reviews and promotions Effective communication leader.
Provide high quality, expert advice to clients, stakeholders and environmental regulators.
Collates and gives feedback constructively Work with the Directors and the team, helping set the strategic direction of the team and instilling the core values of the company.
Support growth, development, wellbeing Proactively build the resilience of the team through enthusiastic line management & leadership Support the team's professional development Work closely with the senior team and Directors to monitor progress against appraisal targets and the CIEEM competency framework Develop networks across disciplines and promote the services of the wider business – working collaboratively to create effective solutions.
Contribute to the identification, bidding for and winning of work – working with the Directors and Operations team.
Attributes required: Proven track record in ecological, environmental or engineering consultancy Commercially minded with experience in business development, client and project management Full membership of CIEEM or Chartered Experience managing and developing teams of consultants Project management experience, ensuring projects are delivered within time and budget requirements.
Bid writing and have a focus on commercial development within the region as we seek to expand the team and our offering locally UK and EU environmental Legislation knowledge National and local planning policies and processes Experience in producing and reviewing technical reports Providing support and clear constructive feedback Promoting professional development of the team Have an understanding of Biodiversity Net Gain, Biodiversity Impact Assessment, UKHABS survey methodology and the DEFRA metric calculators What's in it for you?
