The project:Our client is a global bank with corporate real estate (CRE) operations in more than 60 countries including c270 office buildings and c2,500 branches.
Their ambition for the CRE function is to be trusted advisers to their global businesses and functions, helping them to balance service, cost, and risk.
This they plan to accomplish through working with key strategic industry partners to bring innovation and new working practices to their workplace.
Mace is one of the strategic industry partners with a specific remit for an independent project management office (IPMO).
The client's vision for the IPMO is that it will represent the client across all CRE towers & with key internal stakeholders.
The IPMO responsibilities will include: driving the client CRE strategy, assurancedelivery & compliance, performance management, planning & capital management, commercial management, design & engineering standards, implementation of a suite of digital tools.This role is an embedded within the client organization requiring attendance in the office on 3 days per week.

You will be developing your expertise in PMO and project controls, with a growing internal and external network (e.g.
clients, contractors, consultancies and other stakeholders).
The client has outsourced several services across the real estate portfolio and views the IPMO as an independent service provider providing guidance and assurance across the other providers e.g.
delivery partners.
The PMO and controls team are key co-ordinators in achieving this requirement The PMO will be established to match the hub locations of the client.
As such PMO and control roles will be based in EMEA and in Asia Pacific region and overall global responsibilities will be established dependent on capability and ambition There is a requirement to build on the existing governance framework in existing hub locations and roll out the agreed governance framework to new hub locations.
In all cases, the project controls team will be responsible for documentation, training, assurance of adherence, regular review to ensure ongoing operational appropriateness of the framework, establishment of a reporting drumbeat and ultimately portfolio reporting.
An integral part of assurance of project cost estimates is a comparison against estimates gained via benchmarks.
The PMO team will develop a database of benchmarks noting location, type of project, scale and complexity and speed to deliver.
This they will use to assure future cost estimates and potentially the annual capital planning process.

You will support the HUB PMO and project controls director with resourcing and recruitment for the assigned commission.
You'll need to have: Experience of effective PMO and project controls on complex construction projects Experience of setting up effective PMO and project controls services/audit and assurance frameworks/strategies Comprehensive knowledge of risk tools, techniques and software (e.g.
MS office and Power BI, Aconex, Primavera P6 and RiskHive Ability to manage activities with significant uncertainty of solution or outcome Good understanding of construction projects and interfaces within the project lifecycle and management consultancy.
Deep domain knowledge of providing PMO and project controls leadership in one or more sectors (e.g.
rail, highways, nuclear, public sector, hospitals) as well as in financial services.
Ability to influence and persuade senior management towards a desired course of action.

Develops and maintains a series of internal and external professional relationships.
Proven ability to articulate complex information and ideas for a non-technical audience.
Strong attention to detail and ability to 'deep dive' into topics.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to form effective working relationships.
You'll also have: Membership of RICS, CIOB, APM, ICE or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.
Extensive experience in the successful delivery phase of projects and programmes in the consult sector.
Deep property or infrastructure project management expertise.
Strong commercial and financial acumen.
Leadership and management experience of large, diverse teams.
Experience of managing relationships with key senior stakeholders.
Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.
Educated to degree level (or equivalent).
Cross cultural working.
