Job summary We have an exciting opportunity for Psychology Graduates with a passion for working with people who are experiencing acute difficulties with their mental health.
We are looking to recruit an Assistant Psychologist to contribute to the provision of psychologically informed care for people who are being supported by the Home Treatment Team.
You will also co-facilitate a psychological group for people who are admitted to the adult acute mental health ward.The Home Treatment Team includes Nurses, Psychiatrist, Occupational Therapy, Social Work and Peer Support Worker.You will join a dynamic and creative team of Assistant Psychologists, Trainee Clinical Associate Psychologist, Art Psychotherapist, and Clinical and Counselling Psychologists, and will be well supported.
Main duties of the job In your role as Assistant Psychologist for the Home Treatment Team, you will work with the guidance of the Principal Clinical Psychologist to develop formulations, and apply therapeutic skills and understanding, to deliver brief evidence based interventions.
These will be both individual and group interventions.You will be a valued member of the multi-disciplinary team, and will contribute to providing a psychological perspective for the team.
You will need to communicate effectively with the team and other local mental health teams.For one day a week you will work with the acute adult mental health ward.
This will include co-facilitating evidence-based psychology groups and working with people who may also be supported by the Home Treatment Team.You will be well supported within clinical supervision and the wider Inpatient and Urgent Care Psychology Team.
There are also opportunities for networking with psychologists and psychological professionals working across the Trust.There will be opportunities to contribute to teaching for multidisciplinary staff, team formulations, our psychology team CPD (continuing professional development), and service improvement projects.Our Assistant Psychologists are highly valued and we will support your development.
