What we're looking for... We are looking for an energised and motivated assistant buyer, working in our procurement team supporting the senior buyer and wider business stakeholders to ensure we procure best goods and services aligned to our business priorities.  Indirect procurement, also known as indirect spend, is the process of buying goods and services that are essential for a business's day-to-day operations but are not directly incorporated into the final product.
Therefore we are looking for someone who can be agile and pivot cross category to ensure we support the business on the correct tenders.
The Assistant Buyer for Indirect will operate within our Supply Chain function, whose mission is to be an agile customer focused supply chain at optimal cost.
The job covers supplier selection and aspects of contract management  for goods and services used by the business, based upon availability, quality, price, risk and suppliers market status.
The Indirect Assistant buyer will business partner stakeholders from other functions, providing procurement rigor to the tenderings of goods and services, supporting with contract management and the onboarding of new suppliers when required.
The job holder will report to the Senior Buyer while working closely with the entire Procurement team and wider business stakeholders.  As Assistant Buyer your responsibilities will include; Work with the Senior Buyer to support all areas of the business with contract tendering for goods and services Support the management of the Procurement process for all nominated areas of indirect Procurement by working with various stakeholders within the business.
Prepare, issue, negotiate and evaluate material and service contract tenders within delegated guidelines to ensure good quality, cost effective material and service supply.
 Arrange and lead quarterly reviews with suppliers to develop relationships and drive action to meeting contract commitments and drive supplier performance through effective contract management.
Build strong internal and external relationships.  Adhere to the Professional Code of Practice of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply.
Work cross functionally with a range of colleagues to deliver value enhancing projects aligned to business priorities.Support our No time to waste agenda by engaging suppliers through our sustainable sourcing program.  What you'll bring...
The successful candidate will have; At least 1 year procurement experience managing/supporting categories or be a graduate looking to progress in a dynamic fast moving consumer goods business.  Degree qualification in business discipline desirable.
Willingness to continue your development with a focus on Student membership of Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply working towards attainment of fully qualified MCIPS status.
Commercial awareness and aConfidence to be assertive when appropriate and have excellent negotiation and total cost analysis skills.
Willingness to learn and continuous improvement and  bringing a growth mindset to help solve challenges.  Good personal communication skills required to build professional relationships internally and externally.
An ability to prioritise and respond dynamically to a changing environment.
