Main duties of the job Conducting routine and urgent appointments, both face-to-face and via telephone, ensuring high-quality care.Prescribing according to local and national guidelines.Managing administrative tasks, such as letters, results, referrals, and emails, in a timely manner.Making appropriate referrals and managing related admin.Checking and signing repeat prescriptions to maintain care quality.Providing cover for colleagues in emergencies, considering individual commitments.Supporting Extended Hours services, enhancing patient access.Collaborating with other health and social care providers to deliver integrated care.Maintaining accurate consultation records using the EMIS clinical system.Offering clinical support to colleagues, helping the team meet high standards in patient care and QOF/Enhanced Services targets.This is a dynamic role that offers both patient care and team collaboration in a supportive environment.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential Newly qualified GP (within 2 years and not having had a substantive post) with full GMC registration and license to practice.
Applicants must have current UK professional registration.
Experience Essential Experience of working in a GP training practice using EMIS Experience of dealing with a range of clinical conditions Experience of providing home visits Experience of medicines management Experience of QOF and clinical audit Desirable Experience in triage.
Understanding of policy developments related to the delivery of primary care services including General Practice, the GMS contract, Clinical Governance, Network Contract DES and Quality and Outcomes Framework.
Knowledge of the health needs of the Primary Care Network population Knowledge and Skills Essential Proven ability to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of own clinical practice.
Understanding of evidence-based practice.
Evidence of working autonomously, with some support and supervision.
Ability to effectively triage, assess and diagnose.
Requesting pathology tests and processing the results, advising patients accordingly.
Assessing and managing acute deteriorations/exacerbations of Long-Term Conditions.
Understands the importance of evidence-based practice.
Ability to assess and manage patient risk effectively and safely.
Broad knowledge of clinical governance.
