We are seeking an Analytical Chemist to join our Life Sciences Technology team at our Cambridge laboratories.
In this role, you will provide extensive analytical support to our chemistry teams.
Using your competence in NMR as the primary method of analysis, you will aid in the delivery of services to clients and in the development of complex organometallic catalysts for the pharmaceutical, agrochemical, fragrance and flavour, and fine chemical industries.
This position is perfect for a chemist interested in analytical chemistry and with strong skills in NMR analysis, or for an analytical chemist with NMR experience.
Proficiency in NMR data analysis using 1D and 2D techniques is essential and will be evaluated during the interview.

Your responsibilities: You will take an active role in the promotion of safety, ethics, quality and compliance.
You will deliver high-quality analytical support to customer projects, development, and manufacturing teams, working in close collaboration with the QA function, product managers, and external suppliers.
You will collect and interpret NMR data to perform QC analysis, in-process analysis, structure identification, and quantification of impurities.
You will provide additional support where required, using a range of complementary analytical techniques.
These may include HPLC, UPLC, SFC, GC, MS and KF.
You will develop and improve analytical methods to enable qualitative and quantitative analysis of intermediates and products.
You will write procedures and technical documentation, collaborating with stakeholders such as Technical Specialists, Research Chemists, Quality Manager.
You will oversee maintenance of assigned analytical equipment, coordinating and supervising engineer visits.
Requirements for the role: A minimum qualification of BSc in Chemistry.
Hands-on industrial experience, including the application of NMR spectroscopy.
Proficiency in NMR data interpretation, with the ability analyse complex 1D and 2D data.
Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve instrumental problems.
You will be a pro-active, self-motivated individual with a willingness to develop new skills.
Excellent written and verbal skills with the ability to convey technical information to a diverse audience.
Ability to foster productive and inspiring working relationships with peers.
Attention to detail and a focus on quality.
