23 months contract with a Local Authority Job Summary: To line manage those who undertake and determine eligibility assessments for potential applicants accessing the housing register to ensure the legality and suitability of every allocation.
To oversee the social lettings functions of the council including lettings to SBC stock and nominations to RPs To be responsible for meeting statutory requirements performance indicators and targets in the letting of all social housing.
Provide leadership to the Senior Allocations Officer Allocations Officers and Assistant Allocations Officer in supporting those who are in housing need and wish to apply to the housing register including regular supervisions team meetings and briefings.
Key Duties/Accountabilities Deliver a comprehensive customer focussed and highquality housing allocations service liaising with other sections departments and agencies internally and externally in relation to housing needs issues on behalf of home seekers.
Provide leadership to the Senior Allocations Officer Allocations Officers and Assistant Allocations Officer in supporting those who are in housing need and wish to apply to the housing register including regular supervisions team meetings and briefings.
Be responsible for drafting and managing staff rotas to ensure adequate staffing is in place 5 days a week and ensuring each officer work from the main council offices 2 days per week.
Monitoring sickness and holiday leave as per the appropriate processes.
Monitor staff performance and give constructive feedback recognising and rewarding good performance.
To assist the Interim Allocations and Rough Sleeping Lead (IARSL) in addressing performance or other HR related issues.
Essential Experience Required: Experience of working in a pressurised customer service environment and with vulnerable customers is essential.
Essential Qualification Required: NVQ Business Administration Level 3 BTEC or equivalent or relevant housing qualification is essential.
Additional information to note: Working hours: 37 hours per week.
The role is hybrid with the successful candidate being required to work from the Council offices at Observatory House on 2 days per week.
