JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: Accounts Assistant REPORTING TO: Management Accountant LOCATION: Noble Road, Dundee Based in Dundee, our client is seeking an Accounts Assistant to join their dynamic team.
Reporting to the Management Accountant, you will provide administrative and bookkeeping support to the finance team.
This is a varied role requiring strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Post daily cash receipts Issue sales invoices and reconcile sales ledger to general ledger Process purchase invoices and reconcile to general ledger Ensure timely payment of suppliers Reconcile bank, cash, credit card, and control accounts Process expense claims Calculate and pay agent's commission Complete BACS payments, including international payments Respond to finance-related customer queries Prepare and submit VAT returns Compile and process payroll, including SSP/SMP calculations Maintain Motor Insurance Database in liaison with insurance broker Assist auditors with annual audit preparation Generate month-end reports and handle general filing PERSON SPECIFICATION: Accounts Assistant Qualifications: Strong all-round accounting experience with at least 3 years in a similar role Knowledge/Skills/Experience: Organised and methodical worker Excellent time management and prioritisation skills Team player with a "can-do" attitude Excellent communication skills Proficient in MS Office and ERP/CRM systems Experience with payroll and VAT returns Ability to switch between companies and process transactions Personal Qualities/Attitude: Exceptional customer service experience Confident and approachable Creative thinker, contributing to service improvement Self-motivated, flexible, enthusiastic, and reliable Detail-oriented and takes responsibility for performance Work Related Circumstances: Willingness to undertake relevant training and develop team training BENEFITS 23 days holiday plus bank holidays Company pension scheme Free on-site parking Cycle to work scheme If you are a proactive individual with excellent accounting skills and a passion for teamwork, our client's team is eagerly awaiting your application.
