Accounts Assistant

Details of the offer

Weev are seeking to appoint an experienced Accounts Assistant on a temporary basis to support the Finance department in managing the daily accounting functions at Weev.
Duties will include processing financial transactions, reconciling accounts, and providing assistance in financial reporting and analysis.
Key Responsibilities Process and record financial transactions accurately, including invoices, payments, and expenses.
Verify and reconcile invoices and receipts with purchase orders and delivery notes, ensuring accuracy and completeness of documentation.
Maintain and update financial records using accounting software.
Assist in the preparation of financial statements, management reports, and budgets, providing accurate and timely data.
Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts, investigating and resolving any discrepancies.
Assist in the preparation of VAT returns and other tax-related documents.
Assist in the preparation of payroll, ensuring accurate recording of employee working hours and deductions.
Support year end audit preparation and liaising with auditors.
Contribute to financial analysis and reporting activities, providing insights on financial performance and trends.
Provide general administrative support to the finance department as needed.
This list is not exhaustive but provides a good indication of the main duties of the post.
Essential Qualifications / Experience Proven experience in a similar role.
Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Excel.
Strong numerical and analytical skills, with excellent attention to detail.
Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices.
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
Strong organisational and time management skills to meet deadlines.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.
Familiarity with relevant financial regulations and compliance in the UK.
Desirable Criteria Part qualified with CAI/ATI/ACCA or equivalent.
A degree or certification in accounting, finance, or a related field.
Knowledge of payroll.
