Accountant - Global Software Company

Our client is a highly successful software company with a very strong market position and exciting plans for growth across its global business.
As part of its next phase of development, we are hiring a talented Accountant to join it's global Finance team.
The role requires a strong technical accounting background, particularly in the Software / SaaS sector and in Revenue Recognition and working closely with international sales teams.
Candidates will need to demonstrate strong experience in these areas.
The role requires someone who is very collaborative as it will liaise with key stakeholders, as well as leading process improvement initiatives, to continuously build an efficient and best in class global Accounting organisation.
This will include providing revenue recognition guidance to the Sales, Legal, Operations and Leadership teams.
Key Responsibilities: Lead by example in a new Accountant position as part of the next phase of growth for an established and successful software company.
Ensure compliance to all relevant revenue recognition principles.
Serve as the subject matter expert on revenue accounting and collaborate and upskill cross-functional sales and support teams.
Provide revenue recognition enablement and advice to the sales and support organisations, including reviewing contracts for compliance with guidelines.
Identify, design and propose ways to make revenue accounting, more efficient and accurate.
Skills & Experience: 5+ years in a fast-paced, high-growth Software / SaaS company.
2+ years of public accounting experience, preferably Big 4.
Strong technical accounting skills/experience which has been demonstrated in a dynamic Software / SaaS business.
Strong understanding of relevant revenue accounting.
Ability to bring both a business and accounting perspective to revenue transactions.
Strong analytical and problem resolution skills.
Excellent people skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across the business.
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, having a strong work ethic.
Responsibilities: End-to-end month end accounting processes, ensuring close deadlines are met.
Perform analysis of financial results on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
Ensure financial controls are operational and documented across entities.
Prepare local statutory accounts and ensure they are filed in accordance with regional deadlines.
Lead local audits and contribute to the Group audit and regulatory and tax compliance matters.
Stay current on newly issued accounting standards and assist in the preparation of accounting policies and procedures for newly adopted accounting standards.
Develop effective working relationships with internal and external auditors, managing their expectations and time to create an efficient audit review process.
This is a key Finance role at the start of an exciting growth phase for an already successful software company.
