We are focussed on creating an environment where each person in the team has the opportunity to flourish, develop and make best use of their skills.The ECC provides specialist cancer services for the South East of Scotland Cancer Network, treating oncology and haematology patients within pharmacist day-case, OPD and in-patient settings.
It is a specialist tertiary referral centre for a number of rarer cancers and has a teenage and young adult unit.
The ECC has a broad research portfolio and participates in a wide range of cancer clinical trials.
You will join a supportive pharmacy team, committed to the development of services to cancer patients.
In addition to clinical duties within haematology and oncology inpatient, daycase and outpatient areas, our well supported band 7 rotational posts include time within Homecare services and supporting the ChemoCare (Chemotherapy Electronic Prescribing and Administration System) team, giving a breadth of training across cancer services.We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic pharmacist to join the pharmacy team delivering the highest quality pharmacy services across these areas.
The post holder will contribute to the development and delivery of the clinical pharmacy service in cancer care.
This is an exciting time with new treatments in the horizon, including clinical trials.
There will also be service improvement and personal development opportunities such as independent prescribing roles for those aspiring to develop their clinical practice.
This is an excellent progression opportunity for a rotational pharmacist or a specialist pharmacist looking for expanding your clinical portfolio.Candidates must have a Master of Pharmacy Degree or equivalent, must be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC), and should have completed or have equivalent competence as mapped to the Post Registration Foundation Pharmacist Framework available at: Post-Registration Foundation Programme for Pharmacists in Sc (scot.nhs.uk)There will be opportunity to undertake further postgraduate qualifications in this post.Ideally, candidates will have experience pro-actively influencing prescribing within a secondary care environment and will have gained experience working in a patient focussed environment using their knowledge and skills to improve patient care and promote optimal outcomes from medicines.
Cancer experience is desirable but not essential and candidates will be fully supported through relevant training.This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record.
If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e.
child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
